The Municipal Museum of Olhão is housed in the former “Casa do Compromisso Marítimo”, a building dating from the late 18th century.

This space preserves local culture, promoting and disseminating the county's heritage, from collections of maritime heritage, archaeology, numismatics, canning industry, decorative arts, photography, metrology, cinema, fishing, naval models, weapons and pharmacy.
